Dyango was born and grew up in Havana, Cuba, and currently resides in the United States. Even from afar, Dyango has maintained a strong connection to the culture of his homeland and his native language (Spanish). Upon becoming a father, it became increasingly important for him to keep that connection and to pass it on to his daughter through language, stories and games.
His daughter was the inspiration for the first Hand Critter, Hand Love. As more members joined the Hand Critter family, Dyango realized that he could use the Critters to help his daughter learn more about her languages, by teaching her the different alphabets in a friendly and whimsical way.
There are currently two editions of the ABC Book of Hand Critters, one in English and the other in Spanish, with more languages coming soon.
When he is not inventing new Hand Critters or learning interesting facts about their real world relatives, Dyango works as a graphic and web designer.
